We had a 7 month old placed with us and found out his mama was a minor who lost him due to not having a safe place to live. She moved in less then a year later. Now she’s adopted and he’s our oldest grandchild!

We took in a 16 year old boy with a baby on the way a few years ago. Best decision we ever made. He aged out, but they are still heavily in our lives. ♥️

Foster care needs to be better for teen parents. It needs to be better in general, but teen parents are going through the additional trauma of feeling and being responsible for their child, while also being stripped of autonomy over their own life by the system.

My husband and I have talked about fostering (not to adopt) in the future. As a teen mom, I can’t believe I didn’t even think about teen parents being in the foster system. This just solidified for me that I want to foster.

ill never understand why ppl choose to be foster parents if they arent going to offer a safe loving open environment. not allowing a baby to play in a living room is wild. i cant wait to foster

My parents became foster parents to specifically foster teen parents and teens aging out of the system. We never ended up fostering anyone because they ended up having another kid (my little brother) and decided that was enough people in the house
