I love Chris, but he’s the typical soldier character. Leon walks that line between badass government agent, and just a regular guy that showed up at the wrong time. It makes him stand out.

I think part of why it works for Leon imo is because it works like a coping mechanism. You see streamers throw out jokes all the time when they’re playing a horror game to get themselves through it. Leon’s one liners have always struck me as the same sort of thing

The only problem I have with Chris and other RE protagonists is that they take themselves too seriously most of the time, the RE universe is RIDICULOUS! And Leon is the only character where it feels like they play into it.
