as someone who was a kid selling chicken eggs when I was little I feel really bad for this kid, I was always saving up for something when I sold my chicken eggs the fact that she told him no don’t shovel the driveway and kept the money for herself just irks me, because she has no clue what that kid is saving up for. Let me make this clear kids are not shoveling snow for the sheer fun of it. They’re doing it to save up money to buy something they really want. And she kept it for herself. That’s what I don’t like. It was budgeted for this kid to come and shovel your driveway. It should’ve gone back into the bank account, but she kept it for herself. Thankfully, you made her earn it. I like that.

If you can afford to pay someone and you dont want to do the things you want to pay someone to do, then you pay them to be done. It's OK. It's not OK to take the money and say you will do those things and NOT do thise things because you don't want to do them.
