@jade.morning: Raise your hand if you grew up watching your mom do everything. Now keep your hand up if she’s STILL doing everything. 😭 No shade at all. I love my mom deeply and I know her caring for everyone is just who she is. But it did make me ask a question… Where does that energy stem from? A lot of our mothers (parents even) learned to give and give and give because they didn’t receive enough themselves. So they overcompensated with love, effort, sacrifice… everything. Again.. NO blame. But I don’t believe it’s our job as women to be superhuman. I refuse to pass burnout down as the standard of womanhood.
