@aliamae33: Has this ever happened to you? I’ve never had potting soil grow mushrooms like this. It was in a sealed container I’ve used for potting soil for years? Only difference was that this soil was organic? It wasn’t in a moist room or exposed to light. So bizarre!! #imconfused #gardentok #gardeningtips #gardeningforbeginners #repotting
mushrooms talk to your plants and exchange nutrients!! keep them 💜

good soil, just means there's not a lot of ventilation and it's a bit damp

it *could* become to a problem. as a mycologist and plant person, that means your soil or something there has a probably too much humidity. Fungal spores are going to be in dirt unless it's sterile. but if it can create fruiting bodies it's definitely too humid and moist and can lead to other more harmful fungi (not these guys that are growing, more like root rots and such) and other harmful bacteria!

Home depot and lowes has a soil made out of mushrooms which causes extra shroom growth. Did uou happen to buy that one instead of garden/potting soil

I used to work at a farm and I asked the lead grower if the mushrooms I saw at the base of our plants were okay and she said “oh yeah! They’re welcome here” and it was so sweet I’ve never forgot it

you made a mushroom growing box! seriously, what you have here is what people use to grow mushrooms at home, maybe you should try it intentionally since you seem to have the knack hahaha

Potting soil can do this 😂. If you are starting seeds indoors you can get seed starting mixes that are sterile for no mushrooms. It typically means high moisture or organic materials. You can pull them out to quit spreading more spores and watch water levels or add in some perlite for extra drainage

try growing one on purpose and you will find that it is actually pretty difficult, you have fantastic soil ecology!

Your soil had mycelium chunks in it. It’s perfectly fine to use [or even a little better than fine.]

Places like Lowe’s and runnings sell a form of fertilizer that is made from mushrooms, and I believe some potting soil is too. It’s completely fine

soul rich in nutrients, low airflow, high humidity. it's fine but you might wanna let it dry out a bit more.
also be careful that it doesn't grow mouldy patches with being damp.
