I know it's not my place to say this as a guy, but that's really not how relationships work. Two people can't just read eachothers minds, communication is extremely crucial if you want to keep a love alive. Telling your partner that you'd like it if they did something specific for you ONCE, and they do it, is NOT "doing it just because you asked." They do it because they now know you enjoy that kind of thing. It only becomes "because you asked," if you have to remind them several times and are met with indifference. Anecdotally, I am extremely forgetful, and my loving girlfriend knows this, but I've still noted down what she likes and doesn't like, what things she prefers me to do, her favourite things, and all similar kinds of stuff. Loving doesn't make you a mindreader, it should make you capable of change. Good luck!

I dont get how people expect their partner to know what they always want? getting to know everything about your partner doesn't take a year or 2 or more, you get to know them more if you communicate in the first place, that is if they do, isnt it wonderful that you get to know more about your partner by telling them what you want? because how would they even know what to start with if they don't have anything to begin with? So rather than staying silent, communicate what you want and they'll do the rest if they really listened, just because you told them what you want, and that makes you think that they only want to do it because you told them to, no that's not it, they just needed a little push to which direction, until they know how to love you and learn about you more. and why have negative thoights like this anyway, your presence to your partner matters, thats why its you're called "PARTNERS" you have to help each other, communicate, love, understand...
