People won’t do this because they think it’s too much work and then blame the dog but you’re showing that if you put in the time it makes for such a better experience for the dog and everyone - love this!!!

the difference between the tail wags in the beginning with the friend they both recognized and the tense tail wags later when Harvey was unsure is such a good example of why taking the whole body and context into consideration is so important!

absolutely love how your guest keeps checking in with you to make sure they’re doing everything right and helping your dog with the situation 😭 i find that “training” people can be the hardest part in these situations but this positive interaction between your guest and your dog just healed something in me lol

I love how accommodating your friend is, that must take so much stress away from you! I’m curious, how might you handle a situation where you don’t feel comfortable asking your guest to participate quite as much? Like maybe they’re older or you don’t know them very well yet?

My dog is not this reactive. But he has some stranger danger issues. We have somehow trained him that if someone gives him his high value treat/toy (it has to be that specific thing) that they are supposed to be at the house. It’s like the “password” to get past security
