@sgculturedboi: Here again to my favourite old-school Shajing Oyster Sauce Factory :) Before Shenzhen was a tech hub, it was a small fishing village and the first enterprise they had was the Shajing Oyster Sauce Factory in 1953. And do you know that the prime real estate in Shenzhen (nanshan 南山 -> where tech billionaires live） used to be where they grew and reared oysters before the 80s. I always make a pilgramage every winter for the Shenzhen Oyster Festival to eat an incredible delicacy called 金蚝 or Golden Oysters. These are partially dried oysters which still retain some moisture and are a perfect winter snack - fried till golden brown and eaten with a little sprinkle of sugar.
