This is gonna be long lol. Your theory is solid and also works for other character associated with the Abyss. Specifically, what are the implications of this for Tartaglia? He grew up in a tiny village with a seemingly decent temperament, destined to be an ice fisherman like his father instead of an adventurer, then fell into the Abyss. He came out of that traumatised obviously, but his change in personality is what caused his father to send him to the Fatui and ultimately landed him a role as a harbinger. Tartaglia is only able to be 'chosen' BECAUSE of his experience in the Abyss, but at what cost? He went into the Abyss as a normal, generally happy kid and left extremely angry and battle-hungry. I have to wonder if the Abyss specifically selects potentially powerful individuals who weren't 'chosen' (Abyss Twin, Tartaglia, Dragonspine Durin, etc) for the purpose of bringing down Celestia or something like that instead of said individuals 'turning' to it. Our sibling is trying to resurrect Khaenriah because of its destruction by Celestia. Tartaglia was tainted by the Abyss during his time there, but is ultimately aiding the Tsaritsa to bring down the Heavenly Principles. Dragonspine Durin was corrupted over the years due to Mondstadt not accepting him, and ultimately tainted Dvalin, who has a strong connection to Istaroth (one of the Primordial One's Shades) through Venti.

Wait could it be that the reason the abyss twin is a part of this world because it is not our actual twin but a twin that was born in the abyss out of not being the players choice? Wait the sky nails are supposed to keep the abyss away so It potentially leaked in dragonnspine, could the mimics, appearing mainly there, be abyssal beings of unchosen paths trying to replace the chosen? Could the hatred of the abyss towards celestria and the gods be routed in all the countless times celestria has won against its enemies catalysing the wish to see it gone more and more? This makes me really excited They really be trowing out the biggest reveals in limited quests

I like this theory omg, but imagine if we both were actually meant to be with the abyss order and act as the vessel, because that's the only way for us to be written in the irminsul (like our sibling) but because we manage to dodge in that split of second, fate changes it's course or rather, Asmoday thought "Seems like one is enough." because she knew how powerful decenders are. She was looking at our absorbed twin (the cube) before we attack further afterall.

Imagine if the reason that Traveler sibling isn't a Descender/its recorded in Irminsul its because the Abyss itself try to took her image, this would make sense knowing that King Irmin going crazy and Traveler sibling going to Khaenri'ah happend at the same time, like, imagine she was the one corrupted Khaenri'ahs mind to bow down to the Abyss

Abyss is probably from natural fate that HP forced to diviate and therefore HP purged anyone who try to reach abyss because unchosen fate"abyss" by HP, will return chosen fate to natural state. Thats why nibelung tried to use abyss to make it return the ruling of teyvat to him.
