Hi there, I’m a new vet tech and I also just started working under a board certified pain and rehabilitation specialist. It looks like your baby is slightly dragging his back right leg, likely due to pain. I’m thinking that there’s a good chance that’s why he had the fall in the video you have pinned. Unfortunately when it comes to things like joints and tendons, options are limited outside of surgery. And with him being a senior and a large breed, the recovery would be extensive and would take a huge toll on him…my biggest recommendations would be these; 1) look into underwater treadmill therapy. It’s fantastic for pain and muscle building 2) invest in a heating pad. After long days of running or playing, wrapping a heating pad around his hips and across his lower back will help his muscles recover faster and avoid him being as sore the next day! Just be sure to never leave it for more than 15-20 minutes, and never have it on full heat 3) we got this harness for my dog who had an achillies tear, so we could help support her while she recovered. It has 3 different handles and also straps to go around their legs. I’m so happy with the quality and it made a huge difference in helping her get around when she was sore.
