2 months waiting for an appointment at the Pain Clinic only to be told their service was unsuitable to meet my needs 🙄. Chronic pain but didn’t fit the criteria for the pain clinic?!

My pain management doctor doesn’t ask me anything except are you still taking the medication? Then says okay I’ll send the refills then leaves the room 🤷🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️

I just change my pain management dr. It seemed like my meds were making my pain worse. I kept telling them this. thought I was drug seeking i stop all my meds. 2 weeks later my pain was gone. I was educated that pain meds on fact cause more pain. could you discuss thos

Mine is amazing. She listens to everything, then pauses to think and ask relevant questions. And if she isn’t sure, she lays out a plan we can follow to get more information.

my dr. don't ask anything when I went last time he told me that I shouldn't be hurting cause I am already on roxicodone 5mg so I am good he says been on same thing for over 6yrs.

Saw my Dr today and I must say she listened. She gave me a slight increase to try it out. Made the comment that we aren’t shooting for “no pain” but we need to”managed pain”. I felt validated!!

We moved from WI to TN and I found mine 6 months before we actually moved. They called me pretty quickly to get established, they sent for all my records, so I didn’t have to. They told me they do medication management (opioids) and they spent over an hour with me the 1st visit. They do exist but it can take time to find a good one.💕

I’m so glad I found my pain management Dr. I’ve been with him since they opened. He at the time had one nurse and him. Now he has 2 nps and 10 nurses. He’s found 5 of my diagnoses. He’s the standard I hold every Dr to now.

finding those pain clinics are difficult. I'm blessed to have a good clinic. Ive had injections, nerve burning, a SCS ( a lifesaver for my sciatica)and a 3 level fusion in my cervical spine.

Providers should also be recording your limited functions in medical records and not just push gabapentin as the treatment for everything pain related.

As a chronic pain doc, whats your opinion on using pain medication for Fibromyalgia? I have other issues like chronic low back pain from my stenosis, migraines, and of course the fibro never ending nerve pain. But every pain managment clinic in the area dismisses my case due to fibro

I count myself so unbelievably fortunate to have such a wonderful pain mgmt team. My physicians NP has been my lifeline for many yrs now. So much so that we are thinking of moving to a different state, and losing my team is a very real and huge part of this decision for me. I don’t know if I’ll find another practice like theirs and I’m terrified.
