@nepalinreel: Reports circulating in several media outlets claimed that Balen Shah, senior leader of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) and candidate for Jhapa Constituency-5, used a helicopter during the election without permission. However, those claims have now been confirmed as misleading. The Election Commission of Nepal had already granted official permission to the party on Falgun 20 (Wednesday) after RSP submitted a formal request. The approval allowed Balen Shah to use a helicopter only on Falgun 21 and strictly for the Kathmandu–Jhapa route. Earlier reports alleged that he had violated the election code of conduct and attempted to land in Jhapa without authorization. But official documents show that the helicopter use was legally approved in advance, clearing the controversy. The clarification highlights how misinformation can spread quickly during election periods, especially on social media and news platforms.
