@thisisderin: This is me adding to that conversation. Living with it has mostly just meant learning my triggers, adjusting a few things, and accepting that my skin reacts… a lot. If you’ve ever experienced something similar or you’re trying to figure out what’s happening with your skin, hopefully this helps someone feel a little less alone.
I have urticaria too, I posted about it a couple of years ago because I felt like this too. My triggers includes emotional and physical stress, sweat and dirt. The initial medication I was put on got rid of the dermatographia though.

Developed this in my mid 30’s. Was told that it was an over production of histamine in the system. I just keep Allegra in my system at all times. It sucks but it’s manageable.

One very old pharmacist in the east prescribed some medication for me after I started having these symptoms a few weeks prior and after 6months of taking this one tiny pill daily….. it all ended….unfortunately I can’t remember the name or the pill

I had this in 2022, it was really bad and I was in and out of the hospital for months and same thing I was told no cure, I was give different medications, used different things and I couldn’t figure what the triggers were for some reason, it eventually stopped and I could place what I did differently, maybe cos I changed environment

I love that you shared this. Dermatological conditions that are not mainstream are often put under an umbrella or belittled especially here in Nigeria and there’s a lot of self medication simply because people don’t know.
