@hoosierboyfilms: 🎥 Oppenheimer (2023) After meeting J. Robert Oppenheimer in 1945, U.S. President Harry S. Truman reportedly told aides he never wanted to see him again. In private conversations afterward, Truman referred to Oppenheimer as a “crybaby scientist,” though there’s no evidence he said that directly to him. During their meeting, Oppenheimer spoke openly about the guilt he felt after the atomic bombings, saying he believed he had “blood on his hands.” Truman, known for his bluntness, had little patience for the remark. In later accounts, he claimed he responded by offering Oppenheimer a handkerchief and telling him to wipe his hands. There’s no official transcript of the conversation, and the exact wording varies depending on the source, but the tension between the two men became a defining anecdote in the history surrounding the Manhattan Project. #oppenheimer #cillianmurphy #christophernolan #filmhistory #cinema
