@technooptimist: 🕹️ Palmer Luckey on what went wrong with the gaming industry: "The gaming industry, like many industries, figured out what actually worked a long time ago. They figured out how to make fun games. They figured out how to make things that make people keep coming back. But it's moved from innovation to extraction." – Palmer Luckey on the @TBPN Podcast with John Coogan and Jordi Hays #palmerluckey #virtualreality #johncoogan #futuretech #videogames
It got so bad the guy decided making missiles is more ethical than selling games😂

The car companies realized people NEED transportation and have inflated prices 100% over 20 years with no increase in features except larger screens which don’t even perform well

They just want to steal your time and some cash for a micro transaction. It’s like treadmill the game.

He’s so right when he talks about what games our kids should play. I wish my son never found the endless micro transactions of Fortnite or COD. Hearing him beg me for Fortnite bucks is awful. And he doesn’t have the attention span to make it through a story game like Fable or Fallout or a puzzle game like Portal 2

This was definitely a new angle I hadnt thought about. I always attributed it to the founders who were gamers and understood gaming stepping down and being replaced suits that dont understand gaming

Innovation still exists in gaming, it’s just small indie studios doing it.

Totally agree. That’s why I love retro gaming. Way more experimental, innovative, complete games without micro-transactions, gambling etc.
