@reformedacres: We prefer to stop feeding our meat birds about 24 hours before processing because it makes the day of processing so much cleaner. The chickens have time to expel any food they ate the day prior, and that means that it's not in their body when you're cleaning them out for the freezer. They still have access to grass, insects, and anything they can forage from the pasture - just no chicken feed.
