I was by the coast feeding the seagulls and suddenly there were dozens of them flying right over my head trying to catch the food. Absolute chaos, but the good kind. The Zhan Qiao has such a nice vibe. People walking around, kids laughing, everyone just enjoying the ocean and the seagulls. It’s simple but really relaxing. Sometimes the best moments in a city are the small ones like this. It seems Germans really love Qingdao. Back in 2016, when I was working part-time at a McDonald's in Qingdao, a young German girl Martha got lost and couldn't find her way. I helped her translate the map and told her how to get to her destination by public transport. We even took a photo together that day. I often wonder how she's doing now.
