when Daeron said "and now they're all gone but we remain" i felt so much pain through his words. Not even about the loss of power but it's like they lost a part of themselves and part of their souls and they so desperately want it back. They took the Dragons for granted and could've never imagined a world without them.

Imagine knowing your soul will forever be damaged because your ancestors wasted and destroyed all dragons and any chance of that lifelong bond your soul craves 🥺 Targaryans were not meant to be alone, without being bonded to a dragon. No wonder they went mad when the dragons were gone.

Daeron even said he wasn't always like that nobody is born evil it's the circumstances and the people around them, Aerion, Joffery, Ramsay, Aegon II all a prime example of either poor parenting or unchecked obsessions that turn dangerous.
