@yass.unitedstates: A police officer in Jacksonville is facing felony charges after authorities say he filed more than 200 hours of fake overtime. Prosecutors allege Christian Madsen, 31, collected over $14,000 in pay for hours he did not work. According to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, the false overtime claims were submitted over a three-month period. Officials said that during some of those hours, Madsen was visiting the home of his girlfriend, Jaime Eason, who was also a senior officer in the department. Madsen has been charged with grand theft, organized fraud, and official misconduct and was suspended from duty after his arrest. Authorities said there is currently no evidence Eason approved the overtime claims, though she later resigned from her position. If convicted, the charges could carry up to five years in prison each. #florida #cop #scandal #police #news
