@i2c_jason: Here’s how I got started in electronics and what I’m doing about it for future generations and for those who ask this question on my videos. I’m releasing my own STEM kits on my website. These will be designed to distill the most important practical knowledge from my perspective of nonstop R&D projects. #stem #kit #electronics #Science #DIY
I don’t want my channel to turn into advertisements about these kits and my book. I’ll do my best to avoid this topic unless there’s some relevance to self-employment, careers, etc. In many cases, however, I’ll show work that goes into the STEM kits because that has relevance and is interesting, even though it also promotes the kits. Full transparency, made in USA, and no middle men here! Practicing what I’m preaching. Those are the values of my channel.

Pretty outdated but I read this when I was 12 then just read a ton as I needed to figure things out to create what I wanted, a couple textbooks when I was in school for EE too

My first was Radio Shack's "Understanding Solid State Electronics" 2nd ed. published in 72. I'm 67 and was a freshmen in HS here in Elyria. I'm a retired BSEE now! I still have that and most of the others. Also D Lancaster's classic TTL Cookbook!

With today’s advances/complexity in electronics, it can be rabbit hole to learn. 😉

That’s a lot of page space for 555 timer but Nuts and Volts was an entire magazine it feels like dedicated to timer projects.

oh people, you don't need that much to learn, just figure out how to measure and calculate the input/output impedances
