@saradaviescc: So, it’s National Careers Week here in the UK and the team at @BBCBitesize asked if I’d team up with them to record an inspiring video for young people across the country about how I got started in my career (many, many moons ago!). Looking back, my journey into business didn’t start with some big masterplan, and that’s something I really wanted to share. We talked about turning mistakes and failures into learnings (because trust me, there will be plenty and that’s a good thing), how I realised business was the career for me, why surrounding yourself with the right people changes everything, and how imposter syndrome is something so many young people feel (and let’s be honest, plenty of adults too). If there’s one thing I hope young people take away this week, it’s that you don’t have to have it all figured out. You just have to be curious, willing to learn, and brave enough to give it a go. Careers aren’t straight lines. Mine definitely wasn’t. They’re built on small steps, resilience, and backing yourself, even on the days you don’t quite feel ready. Huge thank you to BBC Bitesize for getting me involved in such an important week. And if you’re starting out and wondering where on earth to begin, just remember every expert was once a beginner. You can watch the full piece over on the BBC Bitesize website. #AD #NCW2026

I was told growing up that I wasn't good enough. So I've always carried it with me so I believe even now that I'm not good enough to do anything

This is what I’m struggling with my son. ADHD and Tourette’s, has no confidence and fights with words.

My book Big Little Voice Calms the Storm is trying to do exactly that. I'm trying to empower kids to understand they are good enough, they can succeed in whatever field they go into and they have to embrace who they uniquely are.

Believing in yourself is half the battle and although it doesn't necessarily mean that you will become well off by working hard, life happens to throw you all the curve balls and the occasional opportunity to decide your path. It's hard to know what you want but by basing all of your decisions around baby steps to your goals that align with your values, you're on the right track of success which may not mean being loaded, but genuinely happy and content.

Yes love this x I keep telling my daughter this, I had it rough but now I appreciate the little things I have, but what I have now is an 11 year old girl who is trying so hard at anything she tries, she wants her own dance brand maybe her own dance school one day, keep your eyes peeled for her name in lights one day 🤩 you are all good enough you are all worthy of greatness just believe in the possibilities.
