Most of us aren’t buying “dream homes”… we’re buying the house where the door sticks, the basement smells a little weird, and the kitchen is straight out of 1976 but somehow it still costs almost a million dollars. You tour a place thinking maybe this is the one, then remember you also need money for property taxes, groceries, and raising kids who eat like grown men. At this point owning a home here feels less like the American dream and more like a group project where everyone’s just trying to survive the mortgage together.
