@kcra3news: Teachers in the Twin Rivers Unified School District went on strike Thursday, a walkout that is the first in the Sacramento County district’s two-decade history.

if you want to help, KEEP YOUR KIDS HOME DURING THE STRIKE. as a para working in schools who HAS to cross picket lines everyday, your children are not learning at school during this strike. they’re watching movies and doing activities. no academics. and your kids not showing up to school, causes the district to lose money. if they lose money, they’ll hopefully have to budge and come to an agreement.

My student said the kept them outside in the cafetería área for a few hours. Then in classrooms with no instruction only doing activities and having students do make up work. We were told there would be enough subs and would be learning.

These teachers don’t even teach nowadays all the kids in sac testing below grade level and they give them 2 week breaks everytime I blink

My daughter goes to one of their middle schools the school made calls saying it will be a normal day I asked my daughter if she was able to finish her math test cause I thought there would be at least subs. She said no they pretty much walked around school they did nothing, then I get a phone call later today from school saying they’re proud they met their goal today and school will resume like normal. tomorrow she’s not going to school if they’re not gonna do nothing

districts work so hard to NOT run a school district. they work SO HARD to provide students and families as few resources and services and to squeeze staff for as much unpaid labor as possible

I am 100% all about doing what you believe is right and protesting for what you believe in but what I’m not about is teachers going to my middle schooler at school telling her do not participate in school because there will not be enough staffing as well as she does not need to do her homework and schoolwork because they will not be graded to me that is drawing in the line and that is ridiculous
