it's scary for us all! But you're explanation makes me feel like I want to go that extra mile the next time I'm shopping and be that shopper who fluffs another girl up on her choices! Like an impartial 3rd party saying "Yes! That looks great!" sometimes helps.

there are so many femme and fun options for cover ups that make the bathing suit situation cute and protective as well. Cover ups dont have to be boring or unfashionable. You got this!!

Women come in different shapes and sizes. One thing you need to hang onto is your inner being. Get what feels the most comfortable stop thinking of what others think because that drives us crazy. Be true to yourself. They have some awesome short/skirt type bathing suits now. Don't deny yourself the rite to living life as you see fit. It's all unique to each of us trans straight gay or whatever. Remember, to thine own self be true. Ignore the haters the nasties. Btw I'm an 72 yr old boomer! Just live your life sweetie ♥️

I get traumatized for a few reasons.. uncomfortable or ill fitting designs. Either it fits on the hips.. but hangs on the boobs. 🤦♀️

as a CIs woman, I some days feel very confident in a skimpy bathing suit, other days I wear a swim shirt and shorts. honestly it's rarely about me, and more about how I think I'll be judged or oogled at the beach. I am worried about how others will react.

Oooooo you could order a bunch off Amazon, or Target, or whatever. Try them on in the comfort of your home, and then return the ones you don't like. I do that because I don't like public swimsuit buying either. I don't think any of us like it.

Honestly most dedicated swim stores will be very helpful and I can guarantee you are not the first trans person to be looking for a suit. I used to work for a well known swim company and we had people all the time with the same concerns. The sales person should make you feel comfortable. If not, ask for another person to help. Use their expertise.

i started wearing uv protecting shirts last summer. you can get them at sports stores, and it both keep you covered and keeps your skin protected. you can do that for a top, with any bikini top that you like underneath.

Literally the only reason I went shopping for a bathing suit was that my bestie was going to Cuba for a week, and I said fuck it, I need one anyway. ended up buying a bikini, which I would never feel comfortable in, and a rash guard for a cover up

You’re going to find something that you feel good in eventually, but is doesn’t have to be “a swim suit”. My go to for swimming is honestly a sports bra layered with an athletic tank and board shorts or a plain full coverage bottom. I can use the pieces separately if I want and I don’t have to worry about something slipping when I’m swimming or playing in the water with my kids.
