@flyfootdoctor: That small white spot on your toenail might not be harmless. Early toenail fungus often starts with small changes like nail discoloration, white spots on the nail, or a chalky looking nail surface. Many people search: “Why is my toenail turning white?” “Is nail discoloration fungus?” “Early signs of toenail fungus.” “How do I treat toenail fungus at home?” Toenail fungus can start mild, but over time it can cause: • Thick toenails • Yellow or brown nail discoloration • Brittle nails • Nails lifting from the skin • Pain or pressure in the toe The earlier toenail fungus is treated, the easier it is to clear. If your nail color or texture is changing, do not ignore it. Follow your foot doctor for real foot health tips and early warning signs. #ToenailFungus #NailDiscoloration #WhiteToenail #FootDoctor #NailFungus
It’s from wearing polish all the time and not letting your nails breathe is what I think

That is NOT the beginning of a fungus. It's dehydration from wearing polish for too long.

Did the listeners miss “the beginning” of fungus!? You made the assumption of “this is not fungus/ tenderness” from hearing 12-15secs of a video.
A patient that doesn’t wear polish often has “ “dryness” from nail polish and “acetone” that they don’t use…. Or “discoloration from nail tools” , come on guys!

That is from using an acetone and also not getting pedicures regular keeping the nail polish on too long but it’s the acetone nail polish, causing the toenail to go white. It will eventually grow out. It’s happened to me several times.

It’s not! It’s from wearing polish too long, esp dark polish. It grows out once you take the polish off. Mine are like this after the summer every year, and I take my polish off during the winter and it grows out normally.
