I finished the novel last night and I found it interesting that the scene where Brian confronts his dad is entirely different there. In the book he’s in his room with Eric, before even meeting Niel, it’s his first time being drunk and his dad calls and he lashes out at him and says those exact words. In the book his dad left when he was younger, idk why they changed that, I think a big part of his story is his dad and how neglectful he was.
