When you are exiting a plane you should always let those seated in front of you off first. It is called politeness and manners. Airlines should insist that all planes are exited this way.

You deplane row by row. But if you need to catch a connection A LOT OF TIME flight attendants announce that to everyone that if you’d be kind enough to let people pass. And you can also ask and let people around you know that you are about to miss your flight; the few seconds longer I have to wait is not a big deal but politeness goes a long way

I generally do get really annoyed when people get up from the back and run to the front to deplane. The exception is when the plane landed late and you have a connecting flight which happened to me a couple of times but I apologize in advance to passengers around me and tell folks I’m late for a connecting flight.
