5 things to do summary: 1- jack it up and check for general underside health like rust , check oil leaks, anything not in place ... 2- Jack it up and take each wheel: inspect suspension, brakes, ... 3- check all fluid levels. engine, coolane trans 4- check for codes on ECU : (cheaper scanners can do the job). 5- Vacuum, shampoo and steem clean the interior: You don't know the previous buyer what he did inside. disinfectant it

better yet take someone who is knowledgeable about cars to the car when you go view it before purchasing it, ideally a mechanic if you know one but if not pay a professional to come with you to do a once over
