I've been to Gamla Uppsala burial mounds in Sweden. They are next to a Christian church. Church believed to be built on top of ancient worship building - a church. So who is showing defiance?

I think more groups should rebuild like this; rediscovering & reclaiming what was destroyed by Christians. I agree that people still crave connection through community, shared beliefs, & rituals (even if it’s something as simple as regular group meals). And not everyone wants to participate in modern religion anymore, so reclaiming old traditions can be a great way to rebuild communities without relying on modern religions.

it is worth noting that the church ground the pagan burial ground is next to also has muslim and jewish sections at this point so it's not the first non-christian section there.
