Mulch holds the moisture in correct? also i live in San Jose, near the mountains so its gets warm/hot here? How to we protect plants in extreme sunny days and should i be asking if you have a Book? we grew tomatoes a few years back and the extreme heat damaged some things? But the garden was green fun and even our cats and dog loved being in our yard. our beds were raised. thank you
