Starlight deserved to become an alicorn. She showed high magical abilities and Luna even said that she saw herself in Starlight which should've made Starlight the next Luna because it would've made perfect sense. She had a dark backstory just like Luna. She saved equestria multiple times and defeated many villians and offered forgiveness to chrysalis when she defeated her. She also created so many new spells and twilight finished one spell and she became an alicorn? Like I know that spell was friendship and whatever but Starlight could've done so much more if twilight would've sent her somewhere to learn how to advance magic and learn more about friendship enabling her to become an alicorn. So yeah she deserved to become one.
