Hi, I've followed you for a while now. Love your content, we have high blood pressure and heart issuse in the family. So, I'll get to the question I need an answer to if you have time. I'm on 60mg Nifedipine once daily and 25mg Carvedilol twice daily. After 6+ months monitoring these meds and all the others I'm on I an now certain one or all of these meds have the side effects that makes me breathless with activities. I used to love going on mountain hikes but I can't do that now because of this. I feel like my GP doesn't understand that I want to do something about it, partially my fault because I've told him it's not extremely bad but it affects my life. So what I want to ask you is, first - could this be because of these meds? Are there a specific amoungst them? And if I should switch what would be the best alternatives? I can also mention that these meds works flawlessly, my blood pressure and pulse are like a very young person (what the nurses say when they meassure it) Thank you for your time and answer !!!

Home BP tracking works best when it becomes almost boring: same chair, same arm, same quiet few minutes, then look for the pattern.

How do you carry the white coat readings at home? I get anxiety when I take my reading because I know my doctor wants to look at it.

I had a smart nurse last week I had a reading of 168/110 she realized I was as anxious then she left me alone with my kids alone and my pressure dropped drastically it was normal when she came back to read the blood pressure machine it was perfect 🥰

Get the Omron with bluetooth if you can because it automatically records the date, time and reading.

I'm taking amlodipine and benazipril daily to control hypertension. I'm finding large variations in BP from 117/77 to 134/90 on my home machine. I like your idea to take my machine to my next Dr visit. I did put new batteries in it to eliminate the variable.

My doctor told me not to. He didn’t like hearing I have super high BP in the morning before my meds.

Question: i had mr repair in 8/21 and re-repair 2/24. Just had my annual echo and the notes call out LV severely dilated vs. “mildly increased “ one year ago. I believe the notes show 6.2cm in both echos. Is the description subjective?

Taking it in both arms is a good idea as well. When comparing, if they are different, it could be indicative of a problem. BTW Doctor, thank you for your videos, excellent work!
