@roger.bacon.jr: People ask me this all the time: “Will the dealership buy me out of my lease?” Sometimes the answer is no — and it’s not because we don’t want to help. It’s because of math. Example 👇 $40,000 vehicle Residual value: $20,000 But the market value might only be $18,000. So if a dealership buys it for $20k… they immediately lose $2,000. That’s actually one of the biggest advantages of leasing. If the vehicle is worth less than the residual, you can simply give it back and walk away. But if you own the vehicle… you eat the loss. That’s the difference most people never get explained. Experience the Difference. #ExperienceTheDifference #RogerBaconJr #CarBuyingTips #LeaseEducation #ISELLCARS
Do not take financial advice from a car sales person.

It’s not about the residual value if you are trying to get out of a lease early. It’s because unlike a loan where the interest is charged daily, on a lease you pay the entire term amount of the interest (or money factor) even if you buy out early. So if you are in a three year lease and want to get out after a year then you are still going to pay all the interest over the three years.

They overprice vehicles and then act like it’s the consumer’s fault.

When explaining leasing to clients, I always write it down in base terms so they can understand.

Meanwhile you are out your due at signing money and your monthly payments. You rented a car like an apartment but you don’t get your deposit back.

So we can give you a lease. But we can’t get you out of it? Even when Mr/Mrs customer puts down 20-30% down upfront?!

What people don't understand, that if you stay within the contract obligations (time/miles/condition) you can just walk away from your lease at the end. If you are over on miles, or you try to break your lease earlier you are out money 🤷♂️.

It doesn’t matter if you buy or lease or what car it is you’re getting $5 on trade. If you lease you’re automatically paying at least $2000 for having used the driver’s seat. More if the car has a scratch on the bumper. And then you get to walk home because you just spent 3 years renting a car.

Leasing can make a lot of senses in the right situation. If you don’t size the lease to your driving habits, then situations like this occur. People buying on the payment amount get themselves into these situations.

Yeah, you lease so you get stuck paying 8k for a handful of miles that don’t impact the value of the vehicle

This is extremely forward and not biased. It’s simply just stating, X value to remaining balance. And why the excess is just too much for them to be willing to eat.
