My shepherd feels more secure with a towel over her heard at the vet. I guess she thinks if she can’t see the danger, than it can’t see her either🤣

As a vet, when they are puppies I advise people to use calming medication for vet visits to help prevent and to help manage this. Most people blow me off. I’m glad you at least understand how traumatizing this can be for so many patients. Bless her.

highly recommend taking her to the vet when she doesn't need anything and just letting her have a positive experience with them, like bring a few of her favorite treat, and let the vets give them to her. I know that might take some work, but it often relieves pet anxiety at the vet office if they have a few good associations.

My GSDs love the vet.. They are probably feeding off your emotions. Try doing tricks and playing with them while they're there.
