Jenna Naeb🦆🦆 :
The last couple months I've had such a strong hunger for the Lord. And I struggle to just sit down and read. The Bible is the only book I read anymore, but I still struggle to sit down and read it. I go so fast I retain next to nothing. So to slow myself down and really HEAR God through His word, I started hand copying the Bible word for word. I'm on chapter 37 of the book of Genesis. And it has slowed me down perfectly so I'm reading, remembering, thinking, and focusing on what I'm reading. I'm a nanny, so I have lots of time at work to be able to sit down while the kids are playing and dive right in. We listen to worship music multiple times a day if not all day. And they get to see someone actively seeking the Lord without keeping it private. Mom and dad read the Bible to them at bedtime, they pray at meals. But I get the honor to worship Jesus with them, open the word for as long as I can, everyday, and we pray for everything. Someone isn't feeling good? We pray. Someone is a bit grumpy? We pray. We talk about Jesus all day. They are learning how to seek the Lord. They ask me for "Jesus" and for them that means they want worship music. We watch the Christian kids cartoons so they can learn Bible stories. And we always talk about Jesus! And I'm always looking for a better way to help them learn about Jesus! I nanny triplets, they're almost 4. And everyday, right before nap, we worship the Lord and pray and tell Jesus goodnight and we pray for good dreams and good health and sometimes even better attitudes! But sitting down and hand copying the Bible word for word has slowed me down just enough to really retain what I'm reading and it's brought me more understanding. My goal and what I feel like God has called me to do is to copy the bible word for word from beginning to end. The whole thing. So I bought 10x 100 page notebooks and I'm doing it.
