I seriously don't understand people who think the series romanticize Gilead while it's clear it's just from Hannah's perspective who lived most of her life in Gilead, only knowing Gilead as a certain system 😭

As someone who was born and lives in a country under a dictatorial regime, it's very refreshing to see this new perspective. You're absolutely right. For me and my friends, the horrors of the dictatorship aren't a dystopia, they're simply our everyday life, the lack of basic necessities, the news of disappearances, the fear of speaking ill of the government. These are things that, because we don't know any better, we normalized. For those poor girls the handmaid's tale is not a dystopian nightmare, it's just their everyday lifes

The series does also star a former Disney Channel actress, Rowan Blanchard who played on Girl Meets World. Found that out when I googled the cast and thought it was really interesting, looking forward to seeing her and the other actresses in this series 💜
