OK, so it’s vinegar and baking soda? Did I miss anything else? Is peroxide part of this at all?

Please don't mix these (Chemistry PSA) Great video on tackling mould, but I have to address the chemistry of the vinegar/baking soda mix for anyone watching. While this is a classic home remedy, mixing them actually neutralizes their cleaning power. Vinegar kills mould because it's acidic. Baking soda kills mould because it's alkaline (and abrasive). When you combine them, they fizz and cancel each other out, creating water and sodium acetate (a salt). The bubbles look cool, but they are just harmless CO2 gas escaping, they aren't 'activating' anything or killing the mould. You're essentially left with salty water, which has no anti-fungal properties. If you want to use both effectively: 1. Scrub with a baking soda paste first to physically remove the mould. 2. Rinse, then spray with undiluted vinegar and let it sit to kill the roots. 3. Crucially: Remember to physically wipe/remove the dead spores afterward, as they can still cause allergies even when dead!
