Tithing is not just monetary. You can tithe in other ways

I wouldn’t unfollow you for giving your opinion because I love your content ❤️. People need to learn how to agree to disagree and still show love. Tithing (to me) is an act of the heart, and has been (and still is) a big part of my spiritual walk. I faithfully give my 10%, and have been able to work on my financial fitness with the leftover 90%. Making that 90 work was truly my first introduction to budgeting. Tithing is an extremely personal decision that people need to research and pray about on their own (from the Bible; not social media) and not treat it like a definite Golden ticket into heaven. Sometimes 5 % is all one can honestly do this season. Sometimes I give it to my church home, sometimes I make a donation to a worthy organization, or volunteer my time, and many times I’ve used a big portion of the amount to bless someone close in my life who’s having a rough financial time. The point is monthly, I do something generous. Now, Don’t get me started on unnecessary building funds, parking lot offerings and SOME churches not assisting those in need because those would be my hot takes…the church needs to learn how to budget better too…😂

This! My grandmother was such a faithful tither the preacher said it in the sermon at her funeral. Somehow we still had to pay for a repass 😂

My pastor says this ALL THE TIME!!!! We literally had classes to teach us how to get out of debt, fund your savings, then you can tithe.

I faithfully give 10% plus an offering and never had any issues with food or a roof over my head even times when money was beyond tight.

You’re not wrong and it needs to be said! Tithing is a personal choice, but people also need to be responsible with their finances.

The problem is ppl don’t realize that tithing is more than money. Volunteering is just as good in the church.

10% of your money should go to investments, not a church. Why would the creator of heaven and earth need money from you?

I would never unfollow you lol because you're genuine, I look at tithes differently, I feel the 10% is mandatory because God wakes us up every morning to go get the %100 and all he wants is %10 , I don't however give all my 10% to the church ,I donate to charities as well

When that said church won’t be helping when something comes up. Gotta take care of yourself before you can help others.

There’s many other ways to give. Clean the church, help with community events, if you can buy a few extra items you can afford at the grocery store to donate to a food pantry or if the church does a food drive. You could offer free tutoring to adults going back to school or children in the church. Etc so many ways to give.

I like your financial advice, and working on getting my 3rd acct established. However, I believe in tithing and do it. God is my source, not the church. I have a small emergency fund, not because I tithe, but because, I’m not as disciplined as I need to be . Also, due to needing more income .

I agree. There are other ways to tithe. God knows your heart. The church will NOT be your safety net.

We don't give 10%. We are cheerful givers. So if its 2%, that's what we give cheerfully. We must also be wise in our giving.

The thing with tithing is that it’s not a group project. It’s a personal conviction. If you have the conviction to tithe. Do that . If you don’t. Then it’s okay 🤍. Everyone should workout their own salvation. This is not a one size fits all exercise!! It’s a heart matter 🤍🤍
