if it makes you feel better my brother and me got hit by a mail truck and while yes they did pay for repairs they also made the process as miserable and drawn out as possible leaving us without a car for a while 😭 so ups and downs to both

Nah it’s not worth it. I walked away from mine thinking I was perfectly fine. Now 1/3rd of my day is spend dealing with my chronic pain, and the rest of it being hyper focused on preventing that pain from happening

If you don’t already have one (and assuming you’re generally a good driver), get a dashcam. Would definitely help in getting a new car if that happens again

think of it this way you would have been car-less for MONTHS (if not years) if you had to wait for the paperwork to go through (plus a lot of annoying calls with insurance)

my friends car got smashed by a bus once, it took months to get an insurance payout and they still deny their wrongdoing (it was a bright red car parked on the street, she wasn't even in it!)

I mean it is a lot of paperwork and if you don’t already have a lawyer it is a very long process. So yeah you missed out but maybe this means there’s a better deal coming to you in the future. (Bigger bus type stuff)
