i think part of it is bc for a lot of masculine presenting lesbians, growing up and for the majority of our lives, we were considered “ugly” and “undesirable” by the people closest to us for presenting in a more masculine way as girls… subconsciously we just aren’t used to conceptualizing the idea of people appreciating us like that, so we inherently undervalue people’s comments and miss a lot of typical social cues based in desire and attraction
