you should just make homemade chocolate syrup. the chocolate powder is hydrophobic and the reason it's floating in the top of your glass after you mixed it in the milk.

I dissolve this mix on the stove with water and make chocolate syrup. It stores in the fridge for a long time and dissolves easily to make chocolate milk

Oh my God. You said Nesquick, but in my mind, I thought Bisquick and I was trying to figure out why it was brown. It took me a troubling amount of time to figure out where I was wrong. 😂😂😂😂😂

I heard nesquik used to use real cocoa which is why it floated on top. Now it just melts with cold milk. Notice how yours is floating too? Real powered cocoa floats.

It’ll mix easier in milk if you put the dry mix in a blender or food processor before storing it.

I have hot water on demand on my water tower so I use 2-3 tbsp of hot water to dissolve the powder. Then whisk it, add ice then milk. Comes out so good. It’ll mix better with the cold milk

Yes you still have to buy ingredients at the store, but no preservatives, dyes artificial flavored colors. To be honest, you could probably grow your own herbs and dry them out for most of the recipes.
