did a little more research, the author of this book died last year and his son used to be president of the chicago cubs and is still heavily involved in professional sports management for soccer, baseball, hockey, and golf. his daughter is a screenwriter and producer, married to actor/screenwriter dan futterman. he’s also got one more son i can’t find anything on. and get this, the wife is a financier.

My comments are being deleted lol. Just do your own research of how Trumpelman compares to a certain current leader. It’s scarily similar. Here’s a tidbit: In King of the Jews, Trumpelman gradually develops traits that resemble the false-messiah pattern: • He claims unique insight into how to save the Jewish population. • He builds a cult of personality around himself. • People begin to treat him almost as a prophetic figure. • His policies involve morally troubling compromises with power. Like the false messiah archetype, the tragedy is that followers may genuinely hope he is right, because the alternative is despair. In short, the name “Trumpelman” functions like a literary signal. Epstein created a character who echoes heroic leaders, controversial wartime negotiators, authoritarian administrators, and false messiahs all at once—forcing readers to confront the impossible moral terrain of leadership during the Holocaust.
