@pawsforcompassion.vn: What a transformation Baloo went through. ❤️‍🩹 Baloo was rescued back in 2023 and had a long recovery with us, including treatment for demodectic mange. How do dogs get domodectic mange? Demodectic mange is caused by mites that live naturally on the dogs skin. The vast majority of dogs have these mites naturally and usually they cause no issues at all as the immune system keeps them under control. But, when dogs are very young, sick, or malnourished the mights can multiply and start to cause issues. These issues can make the dogs skin very itchy and painful, and lead to hair loss and red, scaly patches. The good news is - it is treatable! With proper medication, nutrition, and care most dogs with mange go on to live perfectly normal lives. And our sweet Baloo is just one example of that.
