Maybe take up a craft? Knitting and needlepoint help so so much with blocking out my loud brain. You just think about the next stitch and produce something lovely at the end! 💗

i felt like this my whole life and recently got diagnosed with adhd! although it might not be the case for you it might be worth looking into. it also sounds like your nervous system is in overdrive - meditation/hypnotherapy/eft tapping really helped me gradually get out of constant fight or flight

honestly reiki helps to reset the nervous system , i’d suggest getting frequent massages too as it’s almost the same as meditation - your brain has to be trained to be quiet the same way that it learns to be heightened and stressed

Have you tried Yin yoga? I wasn’t a fan at first because I didn’t know how to be still! You’re basically just laying there in different positions for minutes at a time but It allows you to just fully switch off and the more you do it the more you relax. Definitely recommend some classes!

I’ve started needlepointing because it’s one of those things that I don’t really need to concentrate on and can watch a movie but I find that it’s really helped me to be constantly stressing. I found it really hard to fall asleep and I got a hatch alarm clock and it’s helped so much, it has meditations and little podcasts that you can listen to while you sleep and bc I’m focused on that I’m not focused on my own thoughts!!

i am exactly the same but i was recently diagnosed with adhd so maybe research/ look into that?!!! 💗 adhd medication usually slows the constant noise in your brain down and makes it easier to focus etc!!

The only thing that’s helped me is downloading a colour by numbers game on my phone. Even if it’s just a few minutes of quiet from my brain.

I really relate to everything you’re saying in this, and am currently on the waitlist to be diagnosed with ADHD. Obvs I’m only talking from my own experience but it might be worth looking into xx

A yoga retreat for at least a week, preferably longer ( and not an expensive one - one where u can volunteer at the centre ) like living in community for a short while

the power of now is so good!! 100% recommend!! deffo try the things it says in the book! also don’t go on phone etc for at least an hour before you sleep, have a proper night routine (as in writing down everything on your mind at the end of the day e.g things you need to do or stuff that is stressing you out as writing them down gets them off your mind, reading a lighthearted fiction book right before you sleep and listening to a sleep meditation, not drinking anything for 1.5/2 hours before you sleep). Regular therapy sessions to talk through/get things off your chest & learning how to meditate properly and regularly - you shouldn’t have any thoughts in your mind when doing so and practice/keep at it until this is the case. Also focus on things to reset your nervous system - there are sometimes just physical things that make it impossible to relax and in that case you need to do a vagus nerve reset/stimulation. There are specialists out there to help with this but also you can find information on youtube/google. I learnt everything through my chiropractor but the main thing is to learn how to focus on your breath which is discussed in The power of now! that book genuinely changed my life (i used to be like this too and now my mind is calm and that voice in my head is rare) Hope this helps! 💖

Liv my boyfriend of 5 years has adhd and I see so many similarities in you both. Everything you’ve said he experiences daily. I also have a masters in psychology and they use a DSM-5 criteria for adhd which may be worth looking at and seeing if you relate. I’m not trying to diagnose you btw as I’m not a psychiatrist lol but it may be worth looking into and getting an assessment 🫶🏼 x

The only thing that’s worked for me is a dance class! You’re concentrating so hard on the moves it actually gives your brain a break from everything else
