Over 13 months into the k1 process. I still can’t get an interview with the Montreal Consulate. If I could do it again, the spousal visa is the way we should have gone. No telling when Montreal will release a new batch of appointments.

I don't really agree with the fiancé visa. It seems like it takes longer to get approved and there's a higher chance of it being denied.

When I was at my visa interview at the U.S. Embassy in Port-au-Prince, I saw the family of a woman who came alone for her K-1 interview receive an offer from the interviewer for her two children to get visas, even though no petition had been filed for them. The two children were not even at the U.S. Embassy. They were at a hotel about a three-minute walk away. The interviewer allowed her to call her mother, who was babysitting them at the hotel, and told her to bring them there quickly. In my opinion, the children were probably not even awake when they were brought there.

We did a marriage visa because he had a pending asylum case when he was in US but went back to his country on his own because of a family emergency. What do you think? A lot of people told us fiancé visa would be denied and a waste of time
