@drsubodhverma: As a heart surgeon, I see the effects of these silent risk factors far too often. High blood pressure and high cholesterol can quietly damage your blood vessels for years before a heart attack or stroke happens. ❤️🩺 The good news: both can be found early and treated. Know your numbers, take action early, and speak with your doctor. Prevention matters. 🙏 #Heart #Prevention #BloodPressure #Cholesterol #StrokePrevention
I had a heart attack in a stroke four years ago. I just checked my blood pressure and it’s 148/92. Do I need to be worried and go to the hospital?

It would be nice if you would post natural remedies that help prevent heart issues. Too many doctors are pushing meds that bandaid the symptoms and cause other issues, instead of showing us that you can change these issues with diet and exercise.

I had a heart attack 9 months ago, at 53, and had no clue that I was at risk. Family history is a huge risk factor as well! I’m now managing my blood pressure and cholesterol, my diet and exercise, and have lost 45 pounds (now a normal BMI).

I just did bloodwork and all my cholesterol is high except the good one 🤦♀️it’s LOW! I don’t drink, I don’t eat greasy food due to my gallbladder being gone 😭 heart issues run HIGH on my moms side incl my mom. I see dr at end of month but was wondering how do they find out if u have any plaque build up b4 a heart attack or stroke happens?

basically: lower alcohol intake, avoid tobacco, eat lots of fruits, veggies, nuts & seeds and less processed foods, exercise 30 mins a day to maintain a healthy weight and get 7-9hrs sleep.

And 1 that drs don’t ask about and family drs won’t be able to find until it’s to late and you’ve already had a heart attack if you have no health issues is aortic insufficiency. A large % of people have it and don’t even know it. It might not do anything to some people but I will lead to a heart attack without any signs. Ur born with it and it’s passed down from parents. Check family history for heart attacks and talk to family dr about it

The cholesterol topic is more complex than just the numbers. Also inflammatory markers and insulin resistance are big factors

Is there any stem cell trials for stroke patients in Toronto or Canada? All I’ve seen so far is in other countries. Would these trials help with paralysis and walking?
