@amnacooks3: Creamy Korean Steak and Rice🍲 ingredients: Steak Marinade: 1 ribeye steak (or any steak you prefer) 1/4 cup soy sauce 2 tbsp brown sugar 1 tbsp ginger 2 cloves garlic, minced 1/2 tsp black pepper 1/2 cup water 1 tbsp sesame oil Creamy Spicy Sauce: 1/2 cup Kewpie mayo (or regular mayo / sour cream) 2 tbsp sriracha 1 tsp honey 1 tbsp lime juice Salt & pepper to taste Rice: 2 tbsp vegetable oil 2 cups rice ~2 tsp salt ~3 cups water Vegetables: 1/2 red pepper, sliced 1/2 green pepper, sliced For Cooking: 2 tbsp avocado oil Instructions: -In a bowl, add the steak, soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, ginger, minced garlic, black pepper, and water. Mix well so the steak is fully coated in the marinade. Cover and place in the fridge for 30–35 minutes. -In another bowl, make the creamy spicy sauce by mixing the mayo, sriracha, honey, lime juice, salt, and pepper. Stir until smooth and taste to adjust seasoning if needed. -Heat a pan over medium-high heat and add 2 tbsp avocado oil. Carefully place the marinated steak into the pan since the marinade may splash. Cook for about 5 minutes, flip, and cook another 5 minutes. Because the marinade contains soy sauce and brown sugar, the steak may darken or look like it is burning while it cooks. This is normal and happens because the sugar caramelizes in the pan, adding extra flavor. Use a thermometer if possible. Around 140°F will give a medium steak, but adjust depending on your preference. Remove the steak and let it rest. -While the steak cooks, prepare the rice. In a pot add vegetable oil, rice, salt, and water. Bring to a boil on high heat, then reduce to low, cover, and cook for about 12 minutes. Fluff the rice with a fork when done. -In the same pan used for the steak, add the sliced red and green peppers. Deglaze the pan with a small splash of water, season with salt and pepper, and cook until the peppers reach your desired softness. -Slice the steak, serve it over the rice, add the peppers, and drizzle the creamy spicy sauce over the top.
