I think the thrill of tanking is split between the types of tanks. when you play more aggressive tanks, you're getting the same thrill as a dps, and when you play more protective tanks, you're getting the same thrill as a support.

Thrill for dps is kills for sure. Thrill for supports is essentially the god complex of choosing who lives and who dies including the enemy team. Thrill for tanks is essentially being a monster. Push, pull, break, scatter, clear, take. Being an unstoppable force that decides what a battle is.
