The person who smiled through a pain level of 7 knows it wasn't a 7 but much more because how do you explain life at 7 plus isn't the same as a normal pain level persons 7 they've just learned to cope.

I was labeled drug seeking because I kept saying nothing worked. Then someone listened and did a genetic test. A misfolded μ-opioid receptor variant. Literally no opioids will work for me. And there’s nothing I can do about it. 🥲

I was admitted into the hospital and they actually got psychiatry to come see me because they thought it was all in my head and they told me at the end of my discharge. We think it’s psychiatric. I don’t have psychiatric issues going on right now. I just wanna get to the top of my pain. Is that so hard to ask for? You know life is hard.

I was admitted for myexodema crisis. I also have chronic pain and when I asked for my regular pain meds, a doctor looked me in the face and asked if I was only there for pain meds. I told him, um no, you admitted me for something else, please leave you are rude

I was a RN I went to a NP and told her about the pain in my neck and down my arms and she told me it was stress and that I needed to learn how to cope with it. I told her to order an X-ray she wasn't going too but I asked her to humor me she did. Of course it showed nothing and suggested an MRI she said that was unnecessary I said order it or I will go somewhere else and they will. With reluctance she ordered it the MRI showed I had a ruptured disc in my neck 2 bulging discs and spinal stenosis. I had to have surgery. The moral to the story is we have to advocate for ourselves and not back down when we know something is wrong. BTW I quit nursing due to people like this in the medical field!

Since I was 7 at that time my legs would jump in pain 2 feet off bed now entire body to the point my skin hurts

Thats me .I wish I could find a doctor to listen and help me gain some of my life back . Its a real struggle physically and mentally to be in chronic pain everyday for years .Fibromyalgia and Neck injuries.
