@itshunterwhite: My husband gave me permission to record and post this 🙏🏻 His sleep paralysis started picking up after his time in the military 🥺 I felt horrible not helping him, but we needed the evidence to prove his sleeping disorder to the VA.. Usually I shake him awake as soon as I notice he’s experiencing another episode.. However, sometimes I’m too deep asleep myself and he’s stuck fighting for himself 😭❤️🩹 As you can see, this video is almost a minute long but would have lasted longer if I didn’t wake him up. It’s so heart breaking watching a loved one struggle with this 💔 #sleepparalysis #sleepdisorder
Yk if u have a sleep paralysis ur eyes are open but your brain is still asleep thats why u get them so he probably had a bad dream there

I just start wiggling my toes because that’s the fastest and I steady my breathing and if u get freaked out just stay calm and keep wiggling the toes u will wake up

My 15-year experience with sleep paralysis. Rapid breathing during sleep paralysis is one of the most important signs. You should immediately touch or wake the person up. Because if you don't wake the person up after hearing the sound of breathing, they may have a stroke or brain damage. And if someone like me has a lot of experience in this matter, they can save themselves from sleep paralysis. If you have any questions, I'd be happy to help you.

The hallucinations feel so real!! It’s hard not to believe that they’re not real. I’ve had auditory, olfactory, and tactile hallucinations during sleep paralysis. Most of the time I feel a huge weight on my chest making it difficult for me to breath. I use to panic but they would happen so often that eventually I knew when they were coming on. So now the only thing that snaps me out of it is prayer ( I can’t recite a prayer for life of me but while I’m in this state I know prayers back and forth with no problem it’s crazy). I can see things exactly how they are in real life. No one ever believes me when I say I’m awake. This makes me wonder if this is what people with schizophrenia go through when they have hallucinations.

Studying these kind of stuff makes me no longer afraid of when it does happen to me, because I know it’s only a state of mind thing, basically a bad dream with a sensory experience, but with that said, I know it isn’t true and can’t hurt me in anyway, so I just try to get out of it like it’s a normal experience.

My husband does this and I did not realize this was sleep paralysis. I usually try to talk to him sweetly in his sleep and soothe him and his breathing usually goes back to normal...
